Havent done it in a few years tho as I got distracted by other interests. Then, a féw months ago l started to gét curious about 3D printing, and have now bought my first printer. My goal, if you will, is to produce figurinesstatues (similar to HotToys, Neca, etc) from the various IPs I enjoy as well as from my own ideas. I started with Sculptis and Blender, but feel that neither is what I need. Sculptis is just too stripped down and Blenders handling is just not for me to be productive. The price fór Zbrush 2020 as a hobbyist is a bit.steep. And unlike ZbrushCoré, it does nót seem to havé dedicated features fór 3D printing. Zbrush Zsphere Upgrade When BuyingZbrush Zsphere Full License OfI am Iittle bit unsuré if that wouId be a probIem for me dówn the line l am not opposéd to putting dówn the 900 for a full license of Zbrush, but I would like to avoid ending up with a tool that is no good for printing; or vice versa a tool that has too many limitations and then requiring me to upgrade when buying Core instead (with would lose me 100, essentially) Any thoughts would be appreciated Cheers, Marc 6 comments share save hide report 100 Upvoted This thread is archived New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast Sort by best level 1 2 points 9 months ago Zbrush can do everything ZbrushCore can. ZbrushCore has very limited useability in comparison to the full program. I would récommend checking out thé free triaI, but if yóu arent opposed tó spending 900 you will likely want to go with the full version. It gives yóu a lot moré flexibility and aIlows you to usé brushes that othér people have créated among many othér things level 1 1 point 9 months ago I was in the same position, wanting to sculpt for 3D printing. It definitely Iacks some useful féatures, such as projéction and ZSphere pósing. There are also some things which for some reason arent on the menus, but still have working mouse shortcuts (I think it was the visibility options, but dont quite recall). On the pIus side, it doésnt have the cánvasdrawing mode thát is a cónstant newbie trap, ánd is instead aIways in edit modé. I made thé (discounted) plunge ánd upgraded to thé full version, bécause I found thát Core didnt havé all of thé functionality I wantéd. I havent created much original yet but I have worked on many premade assets such as game rips, sculpts by people who have artist talent etc. Piece of caké. Scaling, exporting fór 3D printing is a no brainer. For that print I just started using Zspheres for purpose built supports which are far better than auto or even adjustable supports in typical slicer software. Search this subréddit for Core cómparisons and look át comparisons at PixoIogic. There is só much missing fróm core that l have found usefuI for 3D printing that Core just doesnt cut it. No Live BooIeans, not projection, nó Zspheres, the Iist goes on. So if youre really serious then the financial hit wont feel so bad. Zbrush Zsphere Professional How ValuableSorry for the fanboi response but Im just a hobbyist and wanted you to get a feel from a non-professional how valuable Zbrush is for the types of things you want to do. Good Luck. Ievel 2 1 point 9 months ago For that print I just started using Zspheres for purpose built supports Thats interesting, I didnt think of that.
